You can make this craft by following along with the tutorial below. This craft is a great addition to a Penguins Preschool theme! Materials:
*Teacher tip: as you know, preschoolers get super excited to put their crafts together, so having a majority of the materials precut is great for streamlining the project. However, if you teach an older age group, include them in the prepping process. Process:Preschoolers will begin by painting the outer ring of the plate back, leaving the center circle white. It can be beneficial to have a printed out picture of a penguin for preschoolers to reference. Let the plate dry completely. If you haven’t already prepped the beak, feet, and small circles for eyes then do this step using the orange construction paper. Again, older kiddos can definitely assist with this task Then use the black construction paper for the two wings. Next, have preschoolers use glue sticks to attach the orange eye outlines at the top of plate in black section like the example above. Glue sticks are more much mangable with little learners but glue bottles work, too! Have your preschoolers glue on craft eyes in the center of the orange circles. Before attaching ask preschoolers where they think each part should go. Then attach the beak with glue and attach the feet. Complete the same step for the wings, attach at each side of the plate. Once all of the parts have been glued on, your penguin is ready to waddle on the ice! Paper plate crafts are simple but also give preschoolers the opportunity to follow multi-step directions when it comes to a craft. This is a great way to slowly assist them in developing independence with crafts! You May Also Like:
